Connecting the community in Devizes
Set in a Victorian school building, SJC is a modern, well equipped, and fully accessible community centre with the principle objective of enabling individuals, families and the community of Devizes to flourish.
As well as the groups, activities and events run by the church, the centre is used by many charities, including Devizes & District Foodbank, DOCA and Citizens Advice to support, connect, equip and inspire.

As well as all this, the church office is located on the ground floor of SJC.
Accessibility & facilities
Accessible Toilets
There are fully accessible toilets on both the ground and first floors. Acess is level, handrails are provided and there is space to manoeuvre a wheelchair.
Wi-Fi
High Speed Wi-Fi is available in every room in SJC.
Accessible Shower
On the ground floor there is a fully accessible shower, with handrails, level access and room to manoeuvre a wheelchair.
Parking
We have a small car park with 5 regular spaces and 1 disabled space.
Parking is also available at Morrisons for a maximum 2 hours, and roadside parking can be found on Church Walk, Brickley Lane, Bricksteed Avenue, and other roads locally.
Lift
There is a platform lift that provides wheelchair access to all floors.
Solar Panels & AC
SJC is fitted with solar panels which provide much of the energy needed to run the centre. With these panels, and highly energy efficient Air Conditioning in the Main Hall and Upper Meeting Room, SJC endeavours to operate as sustainably as possible.
Rooms
Main Hall
14 x 4.5m
Currently used for children and youth groups, Alpha, training, courses, public consultations, a book club, etc.
This large rectangular room is suitable for conferences, training, meetings, and activities involving groups from 20 people, depending on layout. It is located on the first floor but benefits from lift access and an accessible toilet. PA and Projection Equipment are available in the Hall as well as a small servery. There is also an area for more informal gatherings which includes sofas and coffee tables.
The Main Hall has a stairway providing access to the Upper Meeting room which can be hired in conjunction with the Main Hall.
Ground Floor Meeting Room
5 x 4.5m
Currently used by Devizes Area & District Foodbank, CAB, Coffee, Craft & Chat, Games Night, and more.
This square room is suitable for team building, training, meetings and activities involving groups of up to 15.
It includes a small servery as well as a large wall mounted flat-screen TV and DVD player.
This modern room is located on the ground floor.
The Upper Room
5.2 x 4.6m
Currently used for small informal meetings and our youth group.
A bright and airy room with soft furnishings suitable for more informal meetings for up to 15. Alternatively it can be set up in a board room layout for groups up to 10.
This room is situated on the upper floor and is served by an accessible lift.
The Kitchen

Our kitchen is currently undergoing renovation.
The kitchen is situated on the ground floor.
