Giving to St James
Our reason for giving at St James’ is simple and Biblical; we want to be followers of Jesus and to see lives transformed through Jesus Christ.

We recognise that transformation is a life-long process for all of us and that we partner with God to enable His transformation in ourselves, those around us, our local community and throughout the world.

We seek to be guided by the two 'great' sayings of Jesus; the greatest commandment and the great commission:

'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.

And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.' Matt 22:37-38
'Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.' Matt 28:19-20

Local Community (What we do)
As a church family we seek to do justice, love kindness, and to walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8). In this way we desire to see everyone in Devizes and the surrounding area flourish.
  • Love Devizes - Initiated and coordinated by St James Church, this multi-agency, volunteer-led group supports the local community at this difficult time.
  • Schools work - Crammer Cafe (after-school club for Secondary school students), one-to-one mentoring, Bible Explorers and Friday Impact.
  • The Noise - Showing God's love in practical ways wherever there is need. This includes gardening, decorating, litter picking and DIY.
  • St James Centre - Open now! A community building intended to provide flexible, useable spaces for events promoting the flourishing of Devizes residents.
