You Are Loved - A retelling of Easter

One of the most familiar bits of the Bible is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, because we often hear it at weddings. It starts with 'Love is patient, love is kind', and ends with 'Love never fails'. The love that is described is the love we all long for, the love we would want to be able to give as well as receive. The love that is described is the love that Jesus has for you. It is the love that Jesus carried for you through all the events of Easter. Because, the truth is...
JESUS IS PATIENT, JESUS IS KIND. HE DOES NOT ENVY, NOR DOES HE BOAST, NOR IS HE PROUD. JESUS DOES NOT DISHONOUR OTHERS, HE IS NOT SELF-SEEKING, HE IS NOT EASILY ANGERED, HE KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS. HE DOES NOT DELIGHT IN EVIL BUT REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH. JESUS ALWAYS PROTECTS, ALWAYS TRUSTS, ALWAYS HOPES, ALWAYS PERSEVERES. JESUS NEVER FAILS. That is the story of Easter and the brilliance of Jesus' love for you. Question is, how do you respond to such love? |

You Are Loved - Series of Talks
Using 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 to guide us from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday, we are going to look at the Easter story (using the set Bible readings for this period) to look at the brilliance of the love that Jesus has for you:
